*that* I am solving more or less.  The entire new layout already uses em for most measurements so you can scale it all the way up to 72px font sizes without any detectable ugliness.  Default font size is "medium" instead of "10pt".

I think I've just got to get the code <pre> styles right now; but I haven't tested on IE7 yet.
