Thanks to John Colvin! He rigged his webcam centrally so we can livestream DConf 2015 in passable quality to youtube. Link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OCl-jWyT9E

It's live now (30 minutes of break still ongoing so not a lot going on at the moment). Schedule at:

http://dconf.org/2015/schedule/index.html

Times are in MDT (GMT-0600).

Hi!

Any chance to change the YouTube settings? Here in Germany I get only the message:
Live streaming is not available in your country due to rights issues.

Kai

The whole live streaming feature seems to be banned in Germany :( I am afraid there is nothing that can be done apart from using a VPN.

Kai, send me a PM by mail (my first name @ my last name . com) and I'll send you US VPN creds.

Anybody else who needs US VPN: send me a mail!

Lio.

http://docs.livestreamer.io/ can be used to stream it outside the browser. Not sure if this will help people with location issues.

Forgot to add that it's in Arch Linux's repository.

Are you sure? Is not like it would surprise me much, but I have the feeling I have seen live streaming in DE in the past without any trickery...
