Sorry if this is a FAQ but I couldnt find a prognosis.
DMD still produces dwarf errors in GDB when debugging/tracing on my
system (I still couldnt find an exlanation for that), but 0.23 is icing
(I assume to one of the several bugs the dmd frontend had before 1.011).

Any rough date when I could expect a new GDC release? Which DMD frontend will it use?

Try the latest svn of gdc. It should be at version 1.014 iirc. Patching it up to 1.015 is trivial and has worked very well for me.

I hoped for a binary release but I think Ill give it a try and pull gcc
sources and stuff.
Just because I love gdc so much ;-)
