Shouldn't the tool posting changes in issues to the news group check if there is an existing topic to append to ?

Seems to only break the chain between comment #0 and comment #1  - maybe ask the maintainers of digital mars' bugzilla how they have set-up mailing that is different to gdc's bugzilla ?
