Guys (and gals)

Thanks for letting "The D Journal" share the limelight on this newsgroup for the last wee while. Posts regarding the magazine will likely be restricted to a bi-monthly call for papers, so the newsgroup can concentrate once again on the language.

The magazine is to be found at http://thedjournal.com or, for those who like to type less, http://djournal.net. The first version of the website should be up shortly, and you will find all the information in this post there, as well as it being your ongoing resource for whatever is "new" at The D Journal.

I am pleased to announce that we are gradually getting organised, and would like to present the included Call For Papers document (included here as PDF; the online version will be up in the next 24 hours)

To reiterate some information from the call document:

- submissions to the magazine should be made, according to the format
specified in the call document, to submissions@thedjournal.com
- on issues of website/image/layout/format please feel free to contact the
webmaster with your suggestions, image ideas, etc. at
webmaster@thedjournal.com. Also, if you wish to volunteer to assist the
webmaster, please contact him direct
- contact the magazine regarding ideas about different articles formats or
to volunteer for duties as technical editors, proof readers, etc., at
editor@thedjournal.com.

As mentioned previously, we intend to scour the newsgroup for material for the Q&A column (which gets archived as the FAQ section) - please can we have a volunteer for this? - and for opinion pieces, but won't be specifically looking at the newsgroup for article, tech-tip or notes material, so would ask that you make these submissions direct to submissions@thedjournal.com

Thanks in advance for your contributions. We look forward to making The D Journal a worthy compliment to the quality of technology and spirit that is seen in D and in this newsgroup.

Let's get scribbling
