The version number of __DMC__ of the 8.34.2 beta version of the compiler is 0x0833, which is making life more than a little difficult. Is it a deliberate policy to not have the latest version until it is released proper?

It's a mistake, and I'll fix it.

is it a great deal of work to build a DLL version of the compiler every time you release a beta or is it trivial?

If building the DLL means great effort forget it, if not, could you start releasing the DLL in future beta releases?
