People are ready to take chances in life . If not for chances , Walter wouldn't
invest in "D" so much
as quited in the interduction for "D" "who are you to make a new language" looks
he's smarter then
that, there is nothing to loose exept a bit of time and byte of code, how much
time does an average
person wash down in life ? Lets not talk about the fact on the investment from
my side arranging
leagel matters , hardware etc.

Well if $teve jobs and bill gate$ would do this kind of calculations they would
probebly still sit and
write code and all of us would use command line or maybe even punchcards. Thats
why I'm a
business man and not a programer. (though I like to play around coding but not
to make a living
off it.)

You got a good point, but life is gamble , we look for the 10% chance of loosing
and the 90%
chance of gaining. Any thing that doesn't have a chance to loose doesn't have
capability to win.

No money to be invested , just time. . Every body is a partner to a certain
percent. No body collects
money , the company does, every partner has the right to follow up on
transactions.
And by the way the same applies to me relying on who ever joins, but back to the
above statement.
And again life is a gamble.

>

Besides the point that "D" will gain popularity (hopfuly this thing would take
off) Walter wouldn't be
left it the cold. And by the way when did any programer speak or deal with Att
Labs , Karnegie ,
Compaq or all other language developers?

I don't think any serious businessman would have such poor spelling.

Hershel,

I'm sorry, I just don't buy it.

> I hope this answers your questions.

My qualifications? I've got a Phd like Matthew, +3 more; I'm an engineer and compiler developer like Walter but with plenty more experience, and .... It's amazing what I can become when I'm on the 'net! :-D

Are you going to take my word for it? ;-)

But honestly, I'm a nobody, and my qualifications are least of those in this D group.

I do hope that Walter has financial success with D someday, considering all the hours he's donated to it. While your idea may be sound, you are the unknown variable. I think the post from "The Lone Haranguer" about spelling and grammar of the proposal has significant merit.
