Ben Hinkle is looking for a name to his compiler that hooks up to GCC: http://www.digitalmars.com/drn-bin/wwwnews?D.gnu/462.

I think there have been some good suggestion so far, but he hasn't named a winner yet.

I've been watching, but you've taken all of the ones I might have used. I'm such a blatant acronym whore.

I think the challenge is threefold:

1. There's an obvious reluctance to reuse an existing name or a name that's too similar (can we call it "dig"? D Interface to GCC).

2. The desire for shortness (who wants to type "OPENSOURCEDFRONTTOGCC" to invoke their favorite compiler?).

3. A sensical name is better than nonsense (let's call it "marmalade" just because it's fun to say).
