Tesla and Edison didn't like each other due to the AC vs. DC power war. Tesla was pretty awesome, though, just look at his lab.

PS:

"Later that year the US Supreme Court upheld Tesla's patent number 645,576 in effect recognizing him as the inventor of radio."

"Immediately after Tesla's death became known, the Federal Bureau of Investigation instructed the Office of Alien Property to take possession of his papers and property, despite his US citizenship."

"Tesla had been continuing work on the teleforce weapon, or death ray, that he had unsuccessfully marketed to the US War Department. It appears that his proposed death ray was related to his research into ball lightning and plasma and was composed of a particle beam weapon. The US government did not find a prototype of the device in the safe. After the FBI was contacted by the War Department, his papers were declared to be top secret."

I mean, wow! :)

dmand, dserve, or dmerge all get my vote. dsss wont stick in heads as well as these.

This guy might have a point, 'dsss' is not a name that sticks. And it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. I think it would be nice to give what might become a central tool for D users a more branding-friendly everyday name. And one that is easier to pronounce.

So I'd like to suggest 'dsoft' as the new name. Simple and descriptive, almost to the point of being boring. It's only two syllables, and completely without any puns.

$ dsss net install mango
$ dsoft net install mango

They better learn how to use alias'es in shells. Or:

$ echo -e "all: *\n\tdsss build" > Makefile

and use "make" instead of dsss build

Don't change the name. It's perfectly fine. Not too long, not too short, easy to remember and unique enough.

Hey, another D hacker!!

Next thing you tell me, Blaise P. was into D too? Or Ada L.? But she'd be disgusting like that. Naw, she can't be.

By this time I'm really confused. Wasn't this supposed to be about "too hard to type"? "dsrc" sure isn't any easier than "dsss".

I vote for "dsss".
