Hello Walter,

when compiling this example code I get a
  'internal error: cpp 3426'
The second form without Base:: compiles ok.

   class Base {
   public:
       struct MBrake {
          int   left ;
          int   right;
       };
   };

   class Derived : public Base {
      void Foo(bool r, MBrake *ba);
   };

   void Derived::Foo(bool r, MBrake *ba)
   {
   #define INTERNAL_ERROR 1
   #if INTERNAL_ERROR
      int Base::MBrake::*b = &Base::MBrake::left;
      // => Internal error: cpp 3426
   #else
      int Base::MBrake::*b = &/*Base::*/MBrake::left;
   #endif
   }//Derived::Foo
