Hi,

I may have to use Pantheios on Solaris, compiled with the Sun Studio 12 compiler suite (GCC is available, but there are other dependencies with it's own restrictions). Has anyone tried this setup, having a makefile lying around?

Hi Lars

The short answer is no.

The long answer is:
 - a new user - Jonathon Wakely - recently asked the same thing, and he's
going to do some investigation
 - as a result of this enquiry I've recently ordered Solaris and Sun Studio
12, and will be working to make Pantheios (and STLSoft, and other libraries)
compatible with it just as soon as it arrives and I have installed them.

HTH

Matt

P.S. what is the thing you're going to be using Pantheios for? :-)

Sounds good!

Any luck with this?

Yes. Jonathan has done great work on the compatibility.

I'm just waiting for my part-time ops guy to be able to come and set me up with Solaris and SunStudio (on both Solaris and Linux)
and then I'll roll Jon's work into a official SunStudio-compatible releases of STLSoft and Pantheios (and FastFormat, which is
getting tantalisingly close to a first release).

Cheers (and apologies for not communicating this properly)

Matt

Feel free to ship me a "pre-release", I'll soon be in dire need :)

Don't worry.

Just to let you know that I got your email and have sent replies (4). Let me know if you don't get them.

Cheers

And while I'm jabbering about this - what about OpenRJ and Solaris/Forte?

As soon as I've got SunStudio installed on Linux and Solaris (as soon as I've installed Solaris), and I've got compatibility for
STLSoft and Pantheios, all the other libraries will quickly follow. ;-)
