I ran the command:

$ make check-target-libphobos

Building from Subversion with gcc 4.1.2 on Mac OS X 10.5.2, the Phobos unit tests fail with the following error message:

Error: AssertError Failure ../.././libphobos/std/string.d(222)

You just have to add d/clone.dmd.o to D_DMD_OBJS on line 169 of
Make-lang.in, and that fixes the problem.
