Hi,

my proposal for a LDC talk in the LLVM dev room @ FOSDEM has been accepted.
It takes place in Brussels, February 2, 2014.

As possibly the largest European Open Source Conference, FOSDEM takes place in Brussels and attracts with more than 400 lectures every year over 5000 hackers - many core contributors of the worlds leading open source projects.

The final schedule for the LLVM dev room:
http://www.llvm.org/devmtg/2014-02/

The conference home page:
https://fosdem.org/2014/

I look forward to meet you in Brussels!

Regards,
Kai

Congrats! This is a great honor.

Congratulations!

Oh man, the agenda is quite interesting, now how can I organize which talks to attend!?! :)

As I live in Düsseldorf, I tend to sometimes go to FOSDEM as last minute decision, given that both cities are quite close.

If I happen to go to this one, I let you know.

The D world is small. I also live in Düsseldorf. :-)

If more D enthusiasts are located in this area then we should try to create a D social...

Thanks! I think this is a highly visible event. I am really glad to be part of it.
And it is a great chance to spread word about D.

I think a dedicated "D dev room" would be great, too. Maybe you or Andrei should talk to the organizing team.

Kai

I think that's a great idea! I won't be at the conference, and you're a speaker there, so you automatically have more pull with the organizing team.

Good news, will there be a video posted online of the event? I'm not near Brussels, so video would be good for the rest of us. I hope this talk will make it more likely that there'll be an ldc talk at the main llvm meeting in April in Edinburgh, though I'm not sure this would fit that venue.

I suggest that you make your slides available for others to look over beforehand, for some feedback. I'm guessing English isn't your native language, I'd spend some time proofreading your slides if you sent them to me before the talk.

I think that there will be video recording. Videos for all tracks from FOSDEM'13 are available from the web site.

Another ldc talk at the LLVM meeting would be great. But I have to think about the content... (I assume that they will not accept the same talk twice.)

That is a great offer! I sure do as soon as I have something near completion.
