I can only report that I've used the cross-GDC binary distribution to compile for v6 (Raspberry Pi + raspbian), v7-A (ARM instructions, Samsung SoCs, no OS, no Phobos/druntime), v7-M (Thumb2, STM32F103, no OS, no Phobos/druntime), without any issues on the codegen side, as long as proper marm/mthumb/mcpu options are set.
Building for a linux system with incompatible libraries will likely cause some trouble, though.
