I thought some of the people here might want to know. The wiki link below lists some of the topics covered in the new edition.

From wikipedia:

The book includes several additional topics that are not covered in the current edition. New topics include

    * directed translation
    * new data flow analyses
    * parallel machines
    * JIT compiling
    * garbage collection
    * new case studies.

IMO, this *really* makes me want to go grab a copy.

Thanks for the heads-up Sean.

Harummph... I bought the Dragon Book earlier this year thinking that I was getting THAT book... At Amazon, they were advertising "new" chapters. After getting the book, I realized they were just referring to some partially complete chapters available for reviewing on the net. I was really annoyed. I really thought I was buying the new version of the book! :(
