Kenta Cho was recently interviewed by MTV.  I guess that makes him the first D'er to make this kind of press.

You might be familiar with his work, on ABA games, like the recently released "Titanion."

While he doesn't plug D in the interview he says that "I create the games that I want to play. And if some people want to enjoy my games, I give my game and code to those people."

maybe off topic, but there are versions of linux <elive> boundled with Torus Trooper - another game from ABA games, also writen in D.
