What about an official forum for D ? . Have D got any forums on WWW ??

Wouldn't that be a kinda down-grade? (I mean the non-threaded part.)

Please, no. This would split the community into newsgroup-readers and forum-readers. Which would not be good.

A better interface to the newsgroup would be good though.

And the C++ community is splittet into million different groups of readers, as there are so many forums. How bad is that?

You can use any newsreader you want. Just find one you like.

The only thing I might eventually suggest is a developer mailing list in addition to this site. But that doesn't need to happen until the popularity of the languages becomes such that this newsgroup becomes more commonly used for other things, like newbie questions.

C++ isn't a new language whose features still haven't been set in stone. At this stage of its life I think separate groups would be pretty bad for the language/community.

It will be better if all people reply to a thread inside of it instead creating a new thread with "Re:" to keep things clean, organized and easier to view, just like a forum.

I dont think this is done by hand, something on the mailserver desigantes it as a new message. I have had this a couple of times, responding to an old thread, it gets posted as a new message.

Doesn't seem to happen to me (using mozilla), all messages (even yours) appear in correct categorical order. However I keep all the messages ever sent (except the cancelled ones of course) on my hard drive.

It's the References field that is part of the message header.
