dlang.org is slow and seems to be blocked because of the twitter part in the front page. The download page is actually not blocked.

You can also solve this problem more perminately on your own machine by simply adding pbs.twimg.com, twitter.com, platform.twitter.com, and cdn.syndication.twimg.com to your hosts file, and having them resolve to localhost.

That's a good tip.

Who knows how to do asynchronous javascript or what-do-the-kids-call-it, so that the page doesn't block when one script/image blocks.
