It looks like the Developer rooms for FOSDEM 2025 (https://fosdem.org/2025/) are open. It would be great to see some talks on D in there hint hint :)

Perhaps if folks are working on anything open source (maybe even an interesting dub package), it would be worth presenting in one of the rooms here: https://fosdem.org/2025/news/2024-10-28-devrooms-announced/

It's a nice community overall to get feedback, and the conference is free. Many folks said they had not heard of D when I presented last year. Here is my talk from last year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLaUsmLr9so

Given that there are developer rooms specifically for Ada, Go, JavaScript, (Free) Java, MySQL, Python, Rust, and Swift. Perhaps next year if there is interest we can try to organize one for D.

Let's start by getting some submissions in otherwise!

Yes, would be great to see you there again! Let's sync up any D folks who attend to grab lunch at the least.

For anyone thinking of submitting an abstract -- I'm happy to help review if you think it'd be useful. I will make a submission myself and cross my fingers :)

Perhaps an idea to apply for a development room dedicated to dlang next year?

Yes, agreed! Not sure when the call goes out for the dev room proposals, perhaps around September/October
