Hi there! After having found nearly zero solutions for a D community on Discord, having one server be quite inefficient, I've made my own. https://discord.gg/crpA2Hn I hope to bring the community closer by doing this. |

I guess I should link my discord. The dlang-community discord move there as my discord was bigger and it was mostly already all about D. https://discord.gg/bMZk9Q4 This is were, for example WebFreak is (developer of code-d). |

I think most of the community is hanging out at the official D Irc channel. I prefer ergonomics of Discord/Slack/Gitter over IRC, although in the long run I guess IRC is good for the openness compared to proprietiary solution.

Indeed, I was about to mention your discord server.

I prefer ergonomics of Discord/Slack/Gitter over IRC, although in the long run I guess IRC is good for the openness compared to proprietiary solution. Gitter is open source: https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitter/webapp/ I set up Mattermost without any trouble, and if I can do it, it's not complicated: https://docs.mattermost.com/guides/administrator.html |

I've tried Matrix yesterday and was disapointed.
1/ One can think that there are many people but actually 90% of them are connected to IRC via a soft client.
2/ pseudos are no properly updated. To test i've used 0kb yesterday. It's still listed, right now (as M0kb[m]) but i'm not connected to Matrix since 20 hours i'd say.
In conclusion i still like more IRC...maybe Matrix is also about user using their smart phone, but so far i really don't see the point.
