I wouldn't mind that.  In discussing DSSS with a buddy I was actually pronouncing it as DS3 anyhow.

I've decided I don't care for dmand that much afterall... just because having the D at both beginning and end seems awkward to me.

svd will probably be hard to search for because it is the name of an algorithm commonly used in linear algebra (singular value decomposition -- usually shortened to "svd").
