Those forking new threads should favor 'new post' over 'reply.' A 'reply' leaves embedded references to the old thread, misaligning newsreaders. (Yeah I can fiddle with options, but just use new post as a courtesy.) This etiquette will improve signal-to-noise on D news because we can attend just the threads that interest us. I would encourage more forking because D newsgroup threads tend to wander around quite a lot. (Example - Ilya, if you want to talk about Icon string scanning, start a new thread.) Mark |
