Why? It's complicated. (Read the message below.)
When? Never unless we persuade Charles to change his mind.

From http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dide/message/386:

My hosting company wanted me to renew my hosting plan and I don't have the money for it at the moment. Plus it still had some install problems, and I was planning on changing so many things that a re-write made more sense.

Im going on vacation for a while also. Ive got my local box setup for linux finnaly, maybe i can setup a slackware package for LEDS :P.

Charlie

Also, he's mentioned that his new IDE-type project is going to be called "Elephant".

If you want to ask Charles to keep DIDE on life-support for a while, it probably be best to do that at the DIDE group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dide).

So he just gave up?! Why not give the souce to an eager community instead of completely leaving the project?

Source?
take leds. it's written in D.
There is a version that runs on windows
(pre-alpha. Still need to compile Scintilla GTK+ mode in windows)

I use exclusivly leds for all my D projects - linux version.

better yet. take the CVS for dool,DUI and leds
(these version were never even downloaded to windows)
and let's colaborate.

Ant (the creator of leds)

Speaking of dool: what's up with that? There's nothing on the project page to download yet. What kind of things do you want in the library?

check here: http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1121037&forum_id=394961

CVS is up and up-to-date
see intructions on how to download:
http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=115554
or browse it:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/dool/

It contains the bare minimum to allow DMD to compile leds without problems.

3 basic goals:
- 100% OO runtime lib
- open
(- allow DUI and leds to compile)
