Hi all

If you look for d stuff on the internet, giving "d" as a search isn't wise, giving "d language" will perhaps leave out some nice pages.
Wouldn't is be nice if d was called d++?

Not really.  In this case, what you want to look at are the links page at Digital Mars:

And the Wiki:
http://www.prowiki.org/wiki4d/wiki.cgi?MoreLinks

And of course instead of full Web searching, there's always the oft-neglected Directory:
http://directory.google.com/Top/Computers/Programming/Languages/D/

Add on the requisite link to dsource:
http://www.dsource.org/

And there you go.  That should be all the springboard that you need.

PS -- A name like "D++" would actually annoy some search engines and get odd or incomplete results, anyhow.  Plus it implies an already extant "D" language which "D++" supercedes or extends, such as the relationship between C++ and C.  Personally, I would've been happy if the language had kept the name "Mars" although that wouldn't have been any easier to search for.

so you want to change the name because of google failures?

Thanks for the reply.

I agree the links you give are very usefull, but sometimes you're looking for that small page holding some info on, let's say "d language oracle" which wasn't added to forementioned links. In that case, looking for something like "dmars oracle" would give a better result.

Several popular search engines return Digital Mars on the first page when searching for D, including Yahoo, MSN and AllTheWeb. Not that it's a good search query, but I was pretty surprised.

"d programming language" seems to be the best keywords for a search.

Yes. I also strongly suggest including the phrase "d programming language" on any web pages one creates that deals with D, and somewhere in any newsgroup posting (not necessary for the ones on news.digitalmars.com).

When I search google for D I type "digital mars d". It gives good results usualy.
