December 30, 2005 [XMLSTL] nearly at an alpha point | ||||

| ||||
Wrote one too many chapters for the new book today, and totally blew the writing side of my brain, so I've spent the last few hours watching telly with my long-suffering better half and working on XMLSTL with the bit of grey matter that's still functioning. Am just waiting on Walter to fix an ICE in the Digital Mars compiler, after which I should be able to have the properties support for DMC++, along with all the other modern compilers. While I'm waiting for that, I'm creating a separate branch for the XMLSTL development, knocking up a few sample programs - running both xmlstl::msxml::dom (ANSI and Unicode) _and_ xmlstl::xerces::dom - at which point I should be good to go on releasing an alpha for people to start playing with and criticising. Expect something very early in the new year. Cheers Matthew |

Posted in reply to Peter Schregle | No, but I'm hoping to get something in the next week or so. It's the usual story: I broke the back of the technical issues, but before I could have it all really nicely polished other priorities took over. I've been trying to find the time to add the polish, but that's taking too much time. So probably I should release what I've got, and let people criticise from there. I'm trying to release STLSoft 1.9 beta 6 this week. As soon as I've done that I'll make it my business to release the first alpha of XMLSTL. Posted in reply to Matthew | Great. If it helps, I have a current need for something like it, and I would be willing to have a look at it. Regards Peter |

Posted in reply to Peter Schregle | I did a day or so on XMLSTL the other day, which was positive. I've just managed to get the latest recls and STLSoft distros out of the way. The problem I have (as usual) is time. This week I have to release the long-awaited Panthieos logging library, and then do some presentations for a trip I'm making to the US next week. But once I'm back, I will have my plate somewhat clearer, and will be focused on getting XMLSTL alpha 1 out for consumption.
