September 12, 2007 Usablility of GDC ARM | ||||

I've heard talk about people using GDC on ARM chips. I might be starting a project soon on a Gumstix machine, which uses an XScale chip, which is ARMv5TE architecture (PXA207, I think).
Anyway, I'd like to be able to program in D. Is anyone using GDC on ARM? XScale, specifically? What version of GDC? Does anyone know if Tango works on ARM? Is it usable, robust? I'd like to setup a cross-compiler. Is this doable, easy?
Basically, I'm looking for someone with experience for GDC on ARM to comment on the experience.
Thanks.

I've set up a GDC cross compiler for the Nintendo DS, which has two ARM CPU's. I couldn't get either Phobos or Tango working, since I was running without an OS and so a bunch of stuff was missing. Really simple D apps would work though.

I'll be running on a minimal linux, so hopefully I'll have more luck with Tango. -- ~John Demme me@teqdruid.com |
