I'm sorry but that index makes absolutly no sence.
I'm trying to promote D as much as the next guy but that's just wrong.
How is D more popular then RPG?!

"The ratings are based on the world-wide availability of skilled engineers, courses and third party vendors."

D does have "third party vendors" (GDC) but looses by far on the other
two criteria.

"The popular search engines Google, MSN, and Yahoo! are used to calculate the ratings."

That must be the problem, I guess they can't filter the false hits.

The significant thing (which I pointed out) is that it is rising in this index, and this index is based primarily on search engine activity.

Was I trying to imply that D is in greater "real world" use than most of the other 'established' languages anywhere on that list? Of course not.

By using hits on google and yahoo, I think the index is a reasonable indicator of the 'buzz' surrounding a language. I can readilly believe that D has more buzz than RPG.
