I have been working on new newsgroups archive last few days. This is an newsgroup posts archive structured in a way so that it feels more like a forum (that's what you demanded, right?).

Currently it is readonly, updated infrequently and have some known bugs. Testing needed!

User registration, post submition (of course!), post editing/removal, search (per forum/per thread etc) - not supported atm (but will be soon!)

Forum theme is copyrighted and needs to be changed by something free.

Feedback, bugs detected, suggestions etc are *very* much appreciated!

Wow, this looks fantastic.  I can't wait to use it :)

One thing I notice, though - maybe it's not noticeable on larger screens - but on my laptop, the content is not centered.  The left side of the content starts about 1/4-1/3 of the way across the screen so that all the content is smushed against the right side.

Same here, with FF3.  It seems to want to download the raw messages rather than putting their text into the page.  I just figured it's very early in development now.

I ran into that bug too.  Whenever I click on a thread to view it, it asks me if I want to download .msg files (1 for every post in the thread).  It also doesn't display the thread contents.

Hm... Yes, it's bug.

I tested it with Opera 10 and Internet Explorer and it works fine for them.
I have changed file extension to htm, this should fix the problem.

Some kind of menu will be there other day. I removed the gap for now.

You sure you're not sending a bad mime-type in the http headers? (I haven't checked)
