méthode is good. propriétés sounds weird. You can just just use member for member, and champ for field.

Code should also be translated, no need to keep English for variable names in the translated book, as French version is here for people who prefer reading in English.

You can send me your work on the email address I use here to post on the newsgroups (raphael dot jakse at gmail dot com) (don't hesitate to use a [traduction] tag so your email has less chance to get lost, though this is not absolutely necessary).

I will translate and proofread anything to whata, no problem with links or the syntax of translated files. DDoc macros are specific to Ali's book, I won't keep them.

By the way, Oliver, I mostly handled your first translated chapter, I will send you an email when I'm done. Great translation!

I'm finishing the translation of the struct chapter so I can include all your translations and proofreads.

I like "attribut" in French to mean "non function member". I think we should use this. Reactions, anybody?

I think you should stick to membre. Attribut will definitively cause confusion when you reach the UDA chapter.

"Member functions" is usually translated by "fonctions membres" or "méthodes".
"propriétés" is better left for @property imho.
"members" should be "champ" (= "fields").

I agree, "champ" could be a good alternative.

Thanks for the replies everybody. I read them all, and in the end, I decided to translate "members" into "champs" and kept "méthodes" for member functions. However, this isn't final, and you are all welcome to make further suggestions.

@Raphaël : I just sent the translated version to the email address you posted, thanks for giving me the opportunity to participate in this work. I'll translate another chapter as soon as I have some time on my hands.

It should be const ref Parameters and const Member Functions but Scroph might want to translate it as it seems to be the following of his chapter. I don't know what he wants to do.

So you could translate Constructor and Other Special Functions?
